This tool finds the exact Qibla direction from anywhere in the world: the bearing from true north, the compass direction, and the distance to the Kaaba in kilometres. Use your device location or enter coordinates manually, and with the phone compass enabled the needle turns to point at the Kaaba live.
How to use
- Press "Use my location" and allow the browser to access your location.
- Read the Qibla bearing from north, the compass direction (e.g. NE) and the distance to the Kaaba.
- On a phone: enable the compass when prompted, then rotate your device until the needle settles in front of you.
- If location fails, enter latitude and longitude manually and press "Set location".
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the Qibla direction here?
The bearing is computed as a great-circle path to the exact coordinates of the Kaaba — the same method used by trusted Qibla apps. In practice, any error usually comes from the phone sensor, not the math.
Why does my phone compass need calibration?
The magnetometer is affected by metal and electronics around you. Wave the phone in a figure-8 motion to calibrate it, and keep away from metal objects and magnetic phone cases while measuring.
Why does my phone ask for compass permission?
iPhones (iOS 13+) require explicit user permission before a website can read the orientation sensor. Tap "Enable compass" and accept — the live needle cannot work without it.
Is the bearing from magnetic or true north?
The bearing is calculated from true north. Phone compasses measure magnetic north; the difference (magnetic declination) is small across most of the Arab world and does not practically affect the Qibla.
