Frequently asked questions

What is a calculation method?

Calculation methods are astronomical standards set by different Islamic authorities defining the sun angle for Fajr and Isha, varying slightly between countries. Saudi Arabia uses Umm al-Qura; Egypt uses the Egyptian General Authority of Survey.

Is my location sent to a server?

No. Your coordinates are used inside your browser only to compute the times, and are never stored or sent anywhere.

Why do the times differ slightly from the official calendar?

Astronomical calculations may differ by a minute or two from official calendars due to different criteria or elevation. For official times, refer to your country’s authority.

Does the tool work offline?

Once the page has loaded, times are computed locally on your device and no internet connection is needed while the page stays open.
