Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between 24k, 21k and 18k?
Karat expresses purity: 24k is 99.9% pure gold, 22k is 91.6%, 21k is 87.5% and 18k is 75%. Lower karat means a lower price per gram.
Is the shown price what a shop would charge?
The price shown is the raw market value of gold. Shops add making charges and a profit margin when selling, and deduct them when buying from you.
What is the ounce?
The troy ounce is the global trading unit for gold, equal to 31.1 grams of pure gold.
Where do the prices come from?
Prices are served by the site API and refreshed periodically. The current demo build shows clearly-marked sample data.
